Renovated character stone house very favourably located in St Gilles, just 20kms from the old Roman towns of Arles and Nimes and half an hour from the Mediterranean beaches. St Gilles is also a port on the canal du Midi with a lively quayside, where boats can be moored or hired. Nimes-Garons airport is 15 minutes away and the airports at Marseilles and Montpellier an hour away.

Situated at the top of the town, the house has original features such as flagtstone floors, massive wooden beams, high ceilings and original stone fireplaces, which give it great charm and character. The ground floor comprises a kitchen separated by an antique-tiled worktop from a dining/living room. There is also a small bathroom with shower, wash basin and W.C. On the first floor is a 30m2 room with original stone fireplace. A flight of stone stairs leads to a large (36m2) upper bedroom, which would be ideal as a studio. Here the beamed and tiled ceiling slopes down from a height of 6.5 metres to 2.5 metres, affording ample space to construct a mezzanine floor or even a roof terrace The roof itself was completely re-tiled and insulated five years ago, when two Velux windows were introduced to make the room more light and airy. The house has also recently been re-wired and the electrics updated. Although the house has no outside space, there is a parking area for three cars directly opposite, across a narrow, one-way and quiet street.

A house of great charm and character, with original features, well located for motorways, airports and beaches, in a consistently sunny climate with mild winters.
