Valencay is a thriving market town with several interesting features. The chateau is regarded by several prominent newspapers as the most interesting in the Loire as it is filled with original furniture and other objects of the period. This was Napoleon's Diplomatic Headquarters, bought by him for Talleyrand, his finance and foreign minister, to enetertain international guests in a sumptuous fashion.
